We have many projects in the Bristol Diocese which are managed by willing volunteers from the Mothers’ Union.

To all MU Knitters – and your friends!

Do you ever wonder what happens to all those colourful jumpers that you have knitted with such love and care?  For some time we have had problems finding the right home for them, but now Rachel Williamson, our Project Development Co-ordinator, has found a contact, Hellen, in Uganda who is delighted to receive our jumpers and hats.  Rachel recently sent out a couple of suitcases of knitted garments to Uganda and now has received these wonderful photos.

Hellen runs an organisation in Kampala called The Pass It On Trust, supporting children, women (particularly young mothers) and the community  See www.facebook.com/passitontrustuganda.   Hellen and her workers move from community to community giving out our MU knitting. They use these items as a way to encourage mums to bring their child for vaccines and medical attention.  This work is so important, particularly during the lockdown caused by Covid.
